Rin is a Japanese Canadian woman surviving life's horrors with plot, post-metal, and free weights, currently completing an MA in psychology. Her academic background includes law and philosophy. Her past lives include military service, motorcycle mechanics, and competitive sports. She was the 2019 recipient of the "Dr. MacEwan Literary Arts Scholarship" for a published short horror entitled "A Real Nail Biter," and has presented on death and dying in a philosophical context at conferences.
